After the proclamation of the Kingdom of Bavaria on January 1, 1806, the melody of the English royal anthem was initially used as the anthem. In addition, the "Lied der Bayern" ("Song of the Bavarians"), written by Michael Öchsner and composed by Konrad Max Kunz, became established as the anthem from 1860. The 9 partitas can be performed both in their individually structured parts and each as a concertante piece in its entirety.
